If you are considering starting a conversation, the place to begin is with a short, direct note.

Most people who reach out are carrying real responsibility, either personally or within an organization. Some are writing for themselves. Others are reaching out on behalf of a company, a leadership team, or a group of people who depend on good decisions being made.

The reason is usually similar. Something important needs to hold up, and it is worth taking a closer look before a small concern becomes a larger one.

You do not need to explain your entire background or make a case. A few sentences is enough. What you are responsible for, and why you are reaching out now.

Every message is read. If a conversation seems useful, the next step is a short call to understand the situation and determine what makes sense from there.

Not every conversation becomes an engagement. The ones that do tend to start here.
